Program Overview

UMBC’s graduate education programs offer opportunities for those seeking to enter the field and experienced educators seeking leadership roles and knowledge in specific content areas.

The 12-month Master of Arts in Teaching prepares effective educators through an introduction to pedagogy, rigorous coursework and an internship program for every student in the program. The program leads to initial certification.

Designed for certified teachers in K-12, the Master of Arts in Education offers areas of focus in Computer Science, Mathematics, STEM and Science. UMBC’s TESOL graduate programs help educators distinguish themselves from other candidates in their fields.
